More about our materials

Quartz

Quartz is an engineered stone made from crushed natural quartz combined with resins and pigments, creating a non-porous, highly consistent surface.

It’s designed for convenience as much as aesthetics, offering a wide range of colours and finishes, from subtle neutrals to marble inspired veining. Because it’s non-porous, it doesn’t require sealing and is highly resistant to stains and bacteria, making it particularly hygienic and low maintenance.

It’s durable and resistant to scratches and everyday wear, though it’s less tolerant of extreme heat than natural stone, so care with hot pans is advised. Overall, quartz is about reliability, consistency, and ease of living.

Granite

Granite is a 100% natural stone, formed over millions of years, which means every slab is completely unique. Its appeal lies in that individuality: natural variation, depth, and character that can’t be replicated.

It’s extremely durable, highly resistant to heat, and well suited to heavy use, making it a long-standing favourite for kitchens. However, because it’s porous, it requires periodic sealing to maintain its resistance to stains and moisture.

Granite sits in a space where natural beauty and toughness meet, offering a more traditional, organic feel with a bit more upkeep.

Quartzite

Quartzite is also a natural stone, formed when sandstone is subjected to intense heat and pressure, fusing the quartz grains together into an exceptionally hard surface.

It combines the best of both worlds visually and structurally, often featuring the soft veining and light tones associated with marble, but with far greater durability. In many cases, it’s even harder than granite and stands up extremely well to scratching, heat, and everyday use.

Like granite, it is porous and typically requires sealing, so it comes with some maintenance. Quartzite is ideal for those who want a natural, high-end look with strength that rivals or exceeds traditional stone.
